Bruce Springsteen,Robert Deniro and Mel Brooks have been chosen to be honored at this year's Kennedy Center Honors Gala as 'extraordinary individuals whose unique and abundant artistry has contributed significantly to the cultural life of our nation and the world.'
The celebration of their careers will take place in Washington D.C. at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama in attendance.
The President and his wife will also hold a reception for the honorees at the White House the day before the Gala in addition to Hillary Clinton having a dinner for the guests of honor at the State Department.
Brooks is being honored 'for the hilarity of his movies and musicals,' DeNiro for his 'legendary commitment to his characters' and The Boss for his 'gritty and honest songs that speak to the everyman.'
The gala will be broadcast on December 29th on CBS.
